Jerome grew up in a home led by a young single mother, where partying and alcohol were a normal part of everyday life. From a young age, he believed that was just what life looked like. Drinking, chaos, and instability shaped his understanding of the world before he ever had the chance to choose differently.
As he got older, that environment began to take its toll.
What started as exposure eventually turned into addiction. Over time, Jerome found himself caught in a cycle that led to jail, living on the streets, and deep personal pain.
But his story did not end there.
At a breaking point, people close to Jerome began speaking into his life. People he trusted challenged the way he was thinking, encouraged him to see a different future, and pointed him toward recovery.
For the first time, something started to shift.
Jerome made the decision to pursue a different path. That decision led him to Harvest House Atlantic.
Entering the Men’s Recovery Program wasn’t easy. But it was there that real change began.
Since coming to Harvest House, Jerome has begun rebuilding his life. He’s been showing up consistently and putting in the work. What once felt chaotic is now structured.
Jerome has been at Harvest House for 8 months. He is now working full time in construction, continuing to grow his understanding of relapse prevention, and attending a local church here in Moncton.
Nine months ago, his life was controlled by addiction. Today, it’s being rebuilt with purpose.
This is what happens when someone is given a real chance, this is what happens when someone is given HOPE.
