Founder and Executive Director
Cal Maskery has been on the Board since 1997. Cal initiated the Board of Directors for the purpose of accountability, and to sharpen the direction of the mission of Harvest House. Cal serves as the visionary for the Board of Directors.
Cal brings a lifetime of experience to his role at Harvest House. In 1981 Cal followed his father’s footsteps and spent four years incarcerated. During his time in Dorchester Penitentiary Cal watched a Billy Graham crusade on TV. Cal pleaded with God for help and vowed to follow God the rest of his days if He would help him. That night, being led by the words of Billy Graham, Cal accepted God into His heart and his life changed forever.
Keith Parlee has been a member of our Board since 2007. Since joining the Board and subsequently taking on the Chair’s role, the Board has continued to grow and flourish adding quality individuals that bring heart and passion to the Mission.
Each member contributes in various ways through their skill set, background, and perspective, using a “rubber on the road” approach to getting things done, living out the mandate of the mission. In addition to Board growth, over the last few years, the mission has also expanded greatly by adding several new staff members who bring vital services to our clients.
Kathy James is retired after 38 years employed in both the public and private sectors, in the areas of Human Resources and Finance. Kathy James has been a member of our Board since 2017.
Since retirement, Kathy has been volunteering at Harvest House assisting in the development of policies and procedures and managing the finances of the organization. Kathy has acted as an Advisor to the Board of Directors for 5 years on financial and operations matters.
Rob Dunn has been a member of our Board since 2015. He brings a lifelong career of experience and training in Mechanical Engineering.
Rob has invested his life in gaining knowledge of building construction and services, as well as anything mechanical. This experience is an essential support with our existing properties, and with the purchase of new buildings and equipment.
Steven Campbell has been a member of our Board since 2012. His experience and passion have been managing “quality care and housing options” throughout Atlantic Canada for 20 years – as CEO of a not-for-profit organization with annual budgets in excess of $20M and assets of $50M.
His prior experience was managing an acute care hospital. Steven was also a surveyor with Accreditation Canada for 10 years – reviewing/measuring national standards of care and service in numerous facilities across Canada.
Trent MacDonald, CPA, CMA joined the Board in 2018. Prior to that, he served as Finance Advisor to the Board for several years. Trent is a professional Accountant and brings an extensive background, having worked in various Corporate executive leadership roles.
Leon Baker joined our board in 2020. He is the manager of the Walmart Canada store on Trinity Drive, where he strives to provide a great experience for his customers as well as his managers and associates. Leon builds strategic relationships within the city of Moncton to better serve his community. He joined our board in pursuit of a purpose-driven life, allowing his time to influence the lives of others in love and faith.
